I recently visited Loetje with my keto buddies, where I could eat a tasty meal. I did not expect that, so my mind is blown. Loetje is a restaurant chain in the Netherlands, and I had no idea it was famous for its beef steak. Damn, now I know why.

Just a few curiosities about Loetjes

  • Loetje was closed during the lockdown of 2021 but managed to deliver their famous steaks at home to be enjoyed.

Having a keto meal at Loetje

At Loetje, you can have a keto lunch or a keto dinner. The menu differs slightly from lunch to dinner.

Below, you will find only the keto options for lunch at Loetje.

Loetje Tenderloin

This is Loetje’s specialty – and it is also keto! Plus is delicious, juicy, and tender! The beef tenderloin is cooked medium-rare. Ask the waiter not to bring you the bread. The size of the tenderloin is available in medium and XL.

It is available in 4 different seasonings:

  1. Beef Tenderloin with Loetje gravy: this is the original taste of the tenderloin. No sauce on it. This is the safest, keto, and best choice at Loetje. You will love the gravy. Gravy is life.
  2. Beef Tenderloin ‘Bali’, with Loetje sambal gravy: this wouldn’t be my favorite option since sambal usually has some sugar.
  3. Beef Tenderloin garlic with Loetje garlic gravy: this is what I would order over and over again. I love garlic. And this tenderloin was just amazing.
  4. Beef Tenderloin ‘De Roode Waard’ with Loetje gravy, onions, chicken livers, and bacon: also a nice choice, tenderloin, with gravy, enriched by onion, chicken livers, and bacon.
  5. Beef Tenderloin salad ‘Bali’ with Loetje dressing: this is a mixed salad with the tenderloin on it. It contains also veggies not really keto, such as green beans. But hey not a big deal.

Salads

These salads are for sure healthy, low-carb, and made with fresh products. Try to avoid the dressing.

  1. Chicken salad with bacon with Asian dressing
  2. Smoked salmon salad with dill dressing
  3. Goat cheese salad with honey thyme dressing

Suggestion to eat a keto meal at Loetje

  • If you can, bring with you a slice of keto bread, because that gravy cannot be wasted.
  • No bread? Use the gravy as a dressing for your side dish (such as grilled veggies and salad).
