I was at HEMA to pick up some developed photos, and what did I find? XXL Nutrition x Hema Crunchy Protein Bars.
There are 4 flavors in total.
It seems to be a HEMA exclusive—for now, you can only get it there.
For now is a limited edition, so OP=OP.
Taste & Texture
All four bars have a crunchy coating on the outside and a soft center.
A lot of protein bars are weirdly chewy (you know what I mean) and kind of hard to bite into—but not these ones.
They are soft and pleasant to chew.
The taste is good—not artificial at all—which is really refreshing.
That said, I find the flavor a bit too delicate and subtle: I can taste the pistachio or the stroopwafel, but it’s too faint in my opinion.
Special note on the DISCODIP flavor: It has a fun popping effect on your tongue—kind of like Pop Rocks!

Nutritional Values
Here is the nutritional values for 1 bar (60 gr):
- Tompouce: 229 calories | 17 gr carbs 6,3 gr fat | 20 gr protein
- Stroopwafel: 231 calories | 18 gr carbs 6,7 gr fat | 20 gr protein
- Pistachio Ice cream: 250 calories | 17 gr carbs 11 gr fat | 17 gr protein

Yay or Nay?
For me, it’s a big YES!
Lately, I haven’t been into protein bars—they all have that weird chewiness I’m just tired of.
But these ones have a great texture, are easy to eat, and actually taste good!
I really love the HEMA x XXL Nutrition partnership on these products. More of this, please!
