Lizza keto and low-carb products

Lizza is a German company selling low-carb, keto, and high-protein products. They are available in their website and on Amazon.

Among their products, are a baking mix, bread mix, pizza bases, and low-carb pasta.

Careful: not all the products Lizza sells are keto, and many are not even low in carbs.

Matthias and Marc, the founders, start their company in 2015. It all started with a dinner with friends, low-carb pizza, and a food truck. You can read their nice story on their website!

Is Lizza keto-friendly?

Before, Lizza had a lot of keto-friendly products, but now the products are mostly low-carb. Pity.

For example, pasta. Before Lizza had pasta with only 11 gr of carbs per 100 gr. Now, they have one with 41 gr of carbs per 100 gr).

The products

Before, Lizza had many low-carb products, like sauces, toasties, chocolate drops, and jams.
Now the company seems more focused on the flavor, and they don’t sell any more decent low-carb options.

So, notice: even if the package says low-carb or keto, read the labels to see if it really suits your diet.

I will only talk about the most popular products, with a focus on the real low-carb and keto options.

Pizza base

This pizza is the most popular item and I hope it will stay because it is keto-friendly. The pizza is a thin rectangle that can be stuffed and cooked. In 10 minutes you have it ready. The macros are perfect. The calories are less than a fathead dough pizza. But while with a homemade pizza, I am very satisfied, with a Lizza pizza I feel less filled and I could eat easily another one.
But, I am re-ordering this product anyway because I like the macros and it’s perfect for a fast dinner.

If you want to try it, go with the single pack, which contains 2 pizzas.

Low-carb Muesli

The musli are available in the flavor apple and red fruit. The musli are actually very low in carbs and can be eaten also in keto, in moderation. The carbs per 100 grams are 11 for the apple and 10 for the red fruit.

Pasta

At the moment they sell only low-carb pasta, which is NOT keto. And honestly, it has too many carbs, so for me, it is not even worth being called low-carb.

Bread mix

Lizza has several bread mixes, with about 20 gr carbs per 100 grams. This bread it is not really low in carbs, in my opinion.

The ingredients

The website was not updated but the ingredients now are different, and not really low in carbs anymore.
Many products have a new version now, and there is less or even no more Flaxseed, Psyllium Husk Powder, and soy flour.

Conservation

The products are individually sealed and can be stored for about 6 months before the opening. After the opening/baking, you can consume them in one week, depending on the product.

Final Conclusions

A few years ago Lizza was a better brand. I loved that they had many keto options. Now I am very confused, they describe it as a low-carb brand, but many products are not really low-carb.

Besides the few products I mentioned here, they don’t have much choice for a keto or low-carb lifestyle.
