Ciao! I wanted to take a moment to share something important with all of you. Over the past 3 years I’ve been on an incredible journey with the ketogenic diet, enjoying its benefits and I really had fun sharing my experiences with you all.
After a A LOT OF consideration, I’ve made the decision to transition from keto to a more balanced low-carb lifestyle, introducing a few selected carbohydrates in my diet.
WHY I quit KETO
These are the main resons why I quit keto:
⚖️ Balance: Excessive protein and fats no longer felt right. Something was missing, I felt often unsatisfied with my meals and hungrier than usual – even while eating an adeguate amount of food.
🍔 Sustainability: I was struggling my consistency and frequently cheating. This was my warning bell that keto was not right for me anymore.
🏋️♂️ Fitness Goals: A slightly higher carb intake supports muscle recovery, and since I want to get stronger, I need some more carbs.
All these reflections led me to realize that keto wasn’t the right fit for me anymore, at least for now.
This doesn’t mean that suddenly I’ll be trusting all the carbs.
My primary focus will always be on prioritising high-quality proteins and healthy fats.
I’m not ditching keto completely.
I’ll still be munching on my favorite keto meals and snacks. You can count on me to keep scouring supermarkets, restaurants, and even different countries to find keto goodies to share with everyone.
However, I’m also going to be more open to trying out low-carb options along the way.
The following weeks will be challenging.
I’ve been comfortable with my keto routine for years, but now I’m stepping out of that comfort zone and trying something new.
I’ll need to do some research, pay attention to how my body reacts, and figure out which carbs are good for me and how much I should have. I know I’ll make mistakes at first, but I’m willing to give it a shot.
I will update you on this new chapter of my health journey.
