What I’m Eating During Tooth Extraction Recovery.
I recently had a dental procedure that limits chewing for a few days.
After some desperation (because I really wanted my food!), I found some delicious options that are both nutritious and high in protein.
Here’s exactly what I’m eating while healing, foods that prioritize protein and recovery.
What I’m Avoiding (Temporarily)
- Crunchy textures
- Very hot food
- Food hard to chew
- Anything that creates suction (no straws!)
Breakfast/Snacks

- Protein Shake
- Whey Musse
- High protein yogurts
- Plain Greek Yogurt with honey or sugar-free aroma
- Iced-cream, one without chunks
Lunch/Dinner

- Mashed veggies or soup
- Mashed Potatoes
- Soft cheese, like spread cheese, cottage cheese, ricotta
- Tuna cream (I have mixed 1 can of tuna, 2 boiled eggs, 100 gr yogurt, 1 tsp pesto)
This experience has been a reminder that chewing is actually a big part of the joy of eating.
Even though this soft food was quite enjoyable, I found myself missing the act of chewing, and even missing foods I don’t usually love, like crackers or a burger!
I’m glad I was able to adapt to eating soft for a few days, which helped speed up my recovery, and I even managed to hit my protein goals.
