You know me by now—I have a radar for high-protein finds!
So, when my eye (and, let’s be real, a well-done visual merch display at Albert Heijn) spotted Starbucks Protein Drinks, I had to investigate.
Starbucks Protein drinks – 3 flavours
All the flavors are low-fat, contain no added sugar, and promise a solid 20g protein per bottle (330 ml). Here’s the per 100 ml breakdown:
- Caramel Hazelnut – 51 kcal | 4g carbs | 6.1g protein | 1.1g fat
- Caffè Latte – 51 kcal | 4.1g carbs | 6.1g protein | 1.1g fat
- Chocolate Mocha – 52 kcal | 4.1g carbs | 6.1g protein | 1.1g fat
💰 Price: €2.69 – Albert Heijn
My Fitness Pal Approves
I know, most so-called high-protein products are just marketing fluff—often packed with hidden sugars and barely meeting the “high-protein” label.
But MyFitnessPal actually approves—and if my trusted app gives it the green light, you know it’s making its way onto my obsession list.
For reference, this is the Chocolate Mocha:

Starbucks Protein drinks: Yay or Nay?
I’m all about celebrating brands and products that are trying—and Starbucks is definitely worth celebrating for committing to high-protein. I love this new direction and how they’re recognizing that not everyone’s into sugary syrups and full-fat milk.
Now, is it the highest in protein? Probably not—something like an XXL Nutrition protein drink would beat it. But honestly, it’s not bad, especially when you factor in the taste.
It’s definitely worth it for coffee lovers.
So, will I buy it again? I love the taste, but I won’t be buying it regularly, since I have plenty of ways to make a high-protein coffee at home.
My favorite options:
XXL Protein Iced Coffee 22,9 gr protein per scoop, D E L I C I O U S
Prozis Protein Coffee 18 gr protein per scoop, available in many flavors.
You can always make a higher-protein version at home by mixing up your own!
